Jettisons arching stems from the foliage, each with a new 'baby' plant at the end
This relatively new Chlorophytum, a.k.a. spider plant, is a fresh twist on an old (and reliable) classic. That's because the foliage of this one is a zingy lemon-green, but just like its older cousin, it will still jettison arching stems from the foliage, each with a new 'baby' plant at the end.
The name Chlorophytum comes from the Greek: chloros means green, and phyton means plant. More than 200 species are perennials and find their origin in the tropical and subtropical areas of Africa and Asia.
