Diller Scofidio + Renfro has unveiled a 100-meter-tall building featuring cascading pool terraces for the Therme Dubai wellness resort. Set to be developed in Dubai's Zabeel Park, the resort will include a series of staggered, spherical platforms filled with pools, abundant greenery, and waterfalls.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro to Create a Pouring 'Oasis in the Sky' for Dubai Wellness Resort

Diller Scofidio + Renfro designed the Therme Dubai wellness resort to reach a height of 100 meters, envisioning it as both an architectural landmark and a nature-filled escape from the city's sometimes crazy and fast-working environment. The resort's goal is to mix the concepts of relaxation, recreation, and natural elements, offering a multi-sensory retreat for visitors.

The development will feature diverse options of indoor and outdoor facilities, including thermal pools, saunas, steam rooms, mineral baths, and water slides, catering to guests seeking both leisure and wellness experiences. Additionally, the resort will house multiple restaurants, an indoor botanical garden filled with vegetation, and a dedicated event space for cultural and wellness gatherings. These amenities will be thoughtfully arranged into three main sections—Play, Relax, and Restore—ensuring a well-rounded experience for all visitors.

According to the developer, the design has received official approval from Dubai’s ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It aligns with the city’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033, which focuses on enhancing urban well-being through innovative and sustainable infrastructure projects.

Suspended Serenity - The Design Philosophy Behind This Project

Therme Dubai stands high above the city, offering a completely new kind of escape. Rising from the waters of a renewed Zabeel Park, the structure is made up of stacked botanical platforms, each designed as its own world. These floating levels hold thermal pools, open-air terraces, and dense gardens, creating a space where water and plant life take center stage. Every section has its own atmosphere, designed for relaxation and exploration, while also framing striking views of Dubai’s ever-changing skyline.

Therme Group hopes that Therme Dubai will help improve wellbeing in the city by combining nature with leisure facilities. According to the developer, 90 percent of the resort's thermal pool water will be recycled.

Dubai is a city that recognizes that the future must be built with well-being at its core, Therme Group founder Robert Hanea. They are creating more than a destination and are actually shaping how cities can integrate nature, water, and culture to elevate the quality of life at scale. The construction of this amazing project will begin in 2026 and is slated to be completed by 2028.
