Anthuriums Take Center Stage in Alina Gross' Latest Photoshoot
In Alina's latest photography work, model Malia Keana personifies grace in pieces from top-tier brands such as Chanel, Loewe, and Christopher Esber, each styled to perfection by Kristina Kinsfater. Hair and makeup were done by Anja Schweihoff, adding contrast to the daring fashion choices, and creating an effortless yet effective visual harmony.
The editorial’s use of organic shapes and clean lines emphasizes a modern take on the combination of fashion and beauty. Nonetheless, the minimalistic aesthetic highlights the power of simplicity, while the strong colors keep the visuals dynamic and full of life. Flamingo flowers, or as you may know them, 'Anthuriums', play a key element in the shoot, tying together the overall theme of refinement, bringing forward an artistic edge to the composition.
The collaboration between Gross, Kinsfater, and Schweihoff brings a fresh take to this editorial, merging high-end fashion with a modern viewpoint. The interplay between sharp, structured designs and more fluid, natural elements gives this photoshoot a distinctive narrative. This combination elevates it beyond typical fashion editorials, offering a visual story that captures both strength and subtlety in its presentation through the art of photography.
Alina Gross Presents Flamingo Flowers in a New Light
Because it is such a beautiful editorial, Alina shared a bit more of her inspo behind the works plus a few curious details in a short interview.
Q: How did this creative idea pop into your head and what does this artwork represent to you? Why did you choose this flower for this art?
Alina:
"Working with the flamingo flower came to my mind in 2020. The flower is provocative and sensual. At that time I was dealing with gender issues. What is masculine and what is feminine? That's when I found out that the flamingo flower has female and male parts, it reflects the duality in our world. For me, it has a strong aura and so we as a team produced an editorial about it."
Q: What does this flower represent in this photoshoot? What is the symbolism you thought of behind it?
Alina:
"In this photoshoot, the flower is sensual, feminine, and elegant. The model Malea Keana brings the flower to life, embodying the beauty. It's all about showing its true beauty and organic shapes. The woman stands as the symbol of beauty as well."
Q: How did you get inspired to create this?
Alina:
"I love developing catchy and impactful visual works that force you to look and burn themselves into your memory. I always try to surprise the viewer and give them new impulses."
Q: Why do you like working with flowers for your art?
Alina:
"A flower goes through three stages: germination, blossoming, and fading, which is similar to the birth and life cycle. It represents the compassion and attraction of the moment when life unfolds and welcomes the light."
Now open for publication, 'The Allure of the Flamingo Flower' is ready to enamour audiences with its refined and modern take on feminine beauty.
