Jung Da Yoon - Aulling Atelier’s Floral Architect
Jung Da Yoon has an unconventional but very delicate floral style that distinguishes her work from other floral design accounts you may have seen on social media. She has a way of mixing, putting together, and bringing flowers to life through every creation. Her designs don’t follow trends, they dodge them, creating something entirely new.
There’s a playful unpredictability in the way she assembles flowers as if she’s more interested in telling a story than making things look perfect. Jung Da Yoon’s work speaks up—loud and fresh but in a subtle way. As the first Korean floral designer to debut in the florist special of the week, she shares more of how she got involved in the flower world and what makes her who she is and part of her essence when working with flowers.
Representative of Her Business Aulling Atelier
Jung Da Yoon’s journey into the world of floral design began with a deep research and dive into German techniques, majoring in horticulture at just 20 years old. As she explored the wealthy and affluent traditions of Korean floral arrangements, she became equally caught by the European floral culture.
Her travels through Germany, France, England, and Belgium further fueled her passion, whisking Eastern elegance with Western influences. Jung Da Yoon’s outlook and approach to floristry come from a fathomless connection with nature. She takes inspiration from the soft, natural movements of plants, observing their ecological patterns to guide her designs. This connection is why her studio is located away from the noise and business of the city, allowing her to coexist with nature and draw from its beauty in a peaceful environment.
Her floral designs reflect an evident 'look and feel' of this natural harmony, with an emphasis on the lines and organic forms found around her environment which many times is completely filled with nature. Jung presents these elements in a systematic, yet flowing manner, layering movement and texture to create arrangements that feel alive. She’s passionate about letting the world see the waves of colors that flowers offer while adding her signature softness and elegance, two characteristics that describe her work pretty well.
Beyond her work, she’s dedicated to teaching floral design and also directs a range of events, from weddings to other special occasions, always infusing her creations with a balance between what she naturally likes and what the world has to offer her at her hands. She is a very experienced and educated floral designer that strives to keep learning month to month, and year to year. Jung's Flower Studio Translates Into 'Naturalistic Sensibility'
'Aulling Atelier', Jung's amazing floral studio/business conveys a naturalistic sensibility and is derived from the Korean word ‘Eouureojida’, meaning to come together. The studio was created by extracting and merging. It is about the harmony of the 'whole and the flower' located at the point of connection between space and human beings. Aulling is an etymology that started from the perspective and viewpoint that is most necessary for a florist who must always think. While her studio does not only design flowers, she looks at it as a space that allows processes of finding something by looking at, feeling, and making flowers, and in the process, you can experience various emotions.
Given this, Jung expanded the meaning of the flower into her own color choices, her value, and her way of giving color and flowers more life. She created brand values through her 'Life Color Foundation' and hopes that people will find and experience unique values through her flower atelier.
