Vervain Flowers is a floral design studio founded in 2014 by partners India Hurst and Christopher Fletcher. The studio is based in the Midlands in the UK, from where the designers both travel across the country and further afield, designing for weddings, events, and brands. With backgrounds in design, they approach growing and working with flowers as art, shaped by a lifelong immersion in nature. Every composition balances an intuitive use of color, wildness with intention, texture, movement, and imperfection. The result is floral chaos, orchestrated by nature.
Vervain Flower – Shaped by Nature, Untamed by Rules
The UK-based studio is known for its refined, garden-led aesthetic. The designers draw inspiration from their own flower-growing operation in Worcestershire. Their installations and floral arrangements emanate abundance, elegance, and a strong connection to the natural world.
Drawing inspiration from organic forms, they transform flowers and botanical elements into immersive compositions that highlight texture, layered colors, and interesting contrasts. Their work brings together diverse floral materials in ways that emphasize the beauty, complexity, and spontaneity of nature. You'll see through their photos what they mean and what they aim to transmit through every design.
Discerning Eyes and Intuitive Use of Color
They are recognized for their discerning eye and intuitive use of color, developed through a lifelong connection to nature and an understanding of the rhythms of the seasons. Each project is treated as its own creative undertaking, informed by the surrounding landscape, natural materials, and the specific setting in which the work will be experienced. Their designs aim to create memorable environments that respond to place and occasion.

Flowers, gardens, and the wider landscape have long influenced their approach. Drawing on traditional floral methods while embracing contemporary horticultural and design practices, they create work that reflects the character of the materials being used and the context in which they are placed. This combination of knowledge and observation allows them to produce floral compositions that are thoughtful, distinctive, and appropriate to each project.
Having grown flowers at their studio for more than a decade, they have developed a close familiarity with the plants and materials they work with throughout the year. This experience informs their use of color, form, texture, and scale, allowing them to work with confidence and precision. The result is a collection of floral designs that are expressive, carefully considered, and tailored to the individual requirements of each client and setting.

Wedding Lovers
India and Christopher offer floral design services for weddings throughout the UK and internationally. Working from their studio, they create floral concepts for both local and overseas clients, regularly traveling for destination weddings with or without the involvement of a wedding planner. Their process is based on close collaboration, translating each client's ideas, preferences, and personal story into a cohesive floral scheme. Drawing inspiration from the location, season, and overall atmosphere of the celebration, they develop designs that complement the setting and occasion. Through careful planning, they create floral installations and arrangements that enhance the day's experience while reflecting the character of each event.
Falls & Standards
'Falls & Standards' is an offshoot of the studio that shares a strong focus on bearded irises (Iris germanica). It was developed from a growing interest in the flower and its design potential, which is often overlooked due to its traditional reputation. The studio highlights the subtle variations in color and the layered, ruffled form of bearded irises, viewing them as a rich source of inspiration for creative work.
Through Falls & Standards, audiences can explore more about bearded irises, view curated collections, and purchase iris-related products, including iris indexes available through the shop. The platform also offers the possibility to enquire about cut stems during the flowering season in May and June each year for use in floral and creative projects.
Falls & Standards also maintains its own Instagram presence, where it shares images from the iris fields, insights into cultivation, and examples of how the flowers are used within the studio’s broader body of work.
