This year's LATAM Floral Experience event was hosted in the green, joyful city of São Paulo, Brazil. This country overflows with abundant vegetation, hundreds of tropical fruits, and also bestows a creative energy that did not hesitate in leading the heartbeat of the event. The well-known event organizers, comprising Michel Perret, Carolina Chuy, and Víctor Flores, paid attention to every detail, ensuring that attendees enjoyed not only an educational experience but also connected with the cultural side of Brazil's beauty.
Day 1 – Full Floral Creativity in Action at the Latam Floral Experience in São Paulo
The participants of the event were as diverse as they were inspiring. They came from Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia, with Shallima Turizo participating in the event, Chile, along with many talented local designers from Brazil – all gathered to share, learn, and create together.

The first day of the event, which took place on August 8th, began with a unique demonstration by Mikey Putnam and Lucía Milan working side by side on the same piece, each staying true to their individual style yet merging their visions into a spectacular collaborative creation. The result was a table landscape filled with accessories, natural elements, fabrics, and colors that drew everyone in.

Lucía shared how her compositions always start with a three-level base, seeking movement, asymmetry, and organic expression. Respecting the natural shape of each flower is essential to her—rather than altering it, she prefers to enhance its character and adapt it to the design.
Mikey, known and admired for his palettes and special color combinations, shared his philosophy on investing in accessories and mechanics:
“Sometimes, even with a budget available, I only invest in pieces I know I can reuse. I prefer flexible elements and durable mechanics. When starting out, you have to ask: Is this a smart investment? Will I use it again? That mindset has always stayed with me.”

This moment not only inspired the attendees but also educated them on the intention behind every creative decision.
After the demo, the organizing team presented the brief for the nine group projects to be intervened in. This was an invaluable opportunity to collaborate, integrate different styles, and learn the art of teamwork.
The day ended with a magical tea session by Guyra, a Brazilian brand known for its tea with native ingredients and a unique sensory experience. They shared their story, their mission to honor local biodiversity, and the importance of savoring every creation with all the senses.

Day 2 – An Iconic Closing
The second day location introduced the students to Pivô – Arte e Pesquisa, a cultural space in the heart of São Paulo that promotes contemporary art. Here, another demo took place, followed by each attendee working on their own personal project, which was later integrated into one large collective piece, which had been started by Mikey and Lucía. The result: a collaborative work of art reflecting the diversity of styles and the strong connection between all participants.
The experience concluded with a floral-filled cocktail reception, which was filled with music and general conversations, generating new friendships, and once again, sealing a great event that will remain in the hearts of all who attended.
Latin America's floral industry is escalating quickly, driven by its wealth of talent, cultural richness, and collaborative spirit—positioning the region as a powerful force shaping the future of global floral design.
