The festivities begin on Wednesday, August 5, with the always-popular Fun 'N Sun Golf Tournament at the scenic Brookside Golf Course, located beside the iconic Rose Bowl. Whether you're playing for bragging rights or simply enjoying a day on the greens with industry friends, it's the perfect way to kick off the convention.
That evening, attendees will step into The Secret Garden, a celebration filled with garden mystique. Guests are encouraged to follow the theme with 'enchanted garden' attire for a chance to win our Best Dressed honors. While dressing to the theme adds to the fun, it is completely optional – come in whatever makes you feel comfortable and ready to celebrate.
Exploring Southern California's Floral Culture and Creativity
On Thursday, August 6th, attendees can experience one of Fun 'N Sun's most memorable adventures: flowers, floats, burgers, and ice cream! Explore both the Original Los Angeles Flower Market and the Southern California Flower Market, then go behind the scenes at Fiesta Productions, creators of many of the spectacular floats featured in the world-famous Rose Parade. Along the way, enjoy an authentic Southern California experience with an In-N-Out Burger Cookout Lunch and sweet treats from Handel's Ice Cream.
Back at the hotel, the excitement continues with three inspiring afternoon presentations. J. Schwanke will present 'Impressions vs. Activation: Life In Bloom's Impact on Flower Sales', sharing insights on turning awareness into action and creating meaningful consumer connections through flowers. Amy Balsters, The Floral Coach®, will demonstrate how strategic color choices can increase perceived value, reduce waste, and strengthen profitability throughout the floral supply chain. Thursday evening begins with the Flower Fair Pre-Show and Cocktail Party, offering a first look at the latest products, services, and innovations from exhibitors. The celebration continues with An Evening of Glitz and Glamour, featuring the return of the beloved Zippers Band, joined by talented members of CalFlowers' floral community. Vintage-inspired attire is encouraged, and another Best Dressed contest adds to the excitement, although dressing up is entirely optional.
Friday morning begins with one of the convention's most meaningful traditions as CalFlowers presents the Distinguished Service Award, honoring an individual whose leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on the floral industry. The celebration continues with an inspiring General Session featuring keynote speaker Brett Culp, J. Keith White, AIFD, and the 'West Coast Flower Production – A Deep Dive' panel discussion.
