For Karolína Žáčková flowers and plants is nature's way of infusing vitality and joy into our lives. Through her floristry, she uses flowers and plants to spread happiness, inspire and create remarkable moments. Here, she delves into her floral journey, inspirations, her passion for mentorship, and the expectations from the upcoming competition.
Floral Teacher, Judge, and Now a Competitor
For Karolína Žáčková, she is passionate about instilling knowledge into others, in a bid to inspire them and bring their creativity into the world of floristry. Teaching in high school about floristry is a chance for her to create a pool of creatives for the future, who will continue sharing the joy of flowers. She has not only been a teacher but also a judge in different floral championships, but now she is putting herself out to compete and she is confident all the experiences gained from teaching and judging will come in handy during the competition.
Karolína:
"I am used to evaluating and looking for ways to improve the work of others, which also helps me reflect on my work. At the same time, I am constantly in touch with the latest trends and techniques thanks to my involvement in competitions and judging. All of these experiences give me confidence and skills that I can use to compete at the world level."
Participation in several competitions in the past, which resulted in impactful feedback inspired Karolína to consider the possibility of participating in World Cup Floral Art 2025. She is confident that, with this opportunity, she will be able to tap into her creativity and push the limits while also being an inspiration to others:
"The decision to participate in the World Cup Floral Art came after several successful competitions where I received great feedback. The moment I decided to go for it came when I was walking in the woods with my dog and realized that if the opportunity was there, I had to take it."
The Joy and Beauty of Flowers
Since saying yes to her 'dream of floristry' back in high school, Žáčková has always been committed to sharing the joy and beauty of flowers with others. Through teaching, different showcases in competitions, and floral events, a chance to allow people to experience flowers is where you will always find her:
"I have been fascinated by nature and flowers since my childhood. My journey into the world of floristry began at high school, where I realized that I wanted to create something beautiful that would bring joy to people. I was inspired by the combination of aesthetics and nature, and also by the feeling that I can use flowers to convey emotions and stories."
Flowers and plants are good for us, it is nature's gift. We should always soak in the beauty and positive energy they radiate. Through her designs, she not only inspires but also expresses deeper emotions and brings stories into the limelight. She believes that every design is not just a decoration but a way to connect to nature's beauty, simplicity, and sustainability which has transcended generations.
Listen to Nature, and Allow the Creative Juices to Flow
Karolína Žáčková's love for nature is nothing short of admirable. She attributes her creativity and design style to nature and what the mother earth has to offer. She plugs into nature's inspiration, peace, and authenticity, this is the foundation aspect of her floral design.
Karolína:
"My creative process always starts with inspiration from nature. I love going for walks in the woods where I get ideas from the shapes, textures, and colors I see around me. When I create, I always try to start with a clear vision – what I want the arrangement to express. Then I work with individual elements, combining different materials to achieve the greatest possible harmony and originality."
Though she is constantly in touch with the trends, she has a bias towards the trends that are rooted in sustainability. The return to natural, organic shapes and looser compositions that reflect the pristine beauty of nature. Her culture and environment where she grew up, are all connected to nature and the same is reflected in her approach to floral design.
She is already a consumer of products from Decorum and Marginpar, and the diversity and quality of products from these two brands offer immense options for her. Karolína mentions she is particularly fond of working with the plants of the Decorum label and the specialty flowers from Marginpar. No surprise she is looking forward to incorporating these products into all the designs she has lined up for the championship.
Ready to Compete
The excitement is on! Karolína Žáčková is ready to compete. She understands that the competition will be tough, but she is determined to get the best result possible.
She says:
"Handling the pressure of competitions is a challenge. The key for me is to stay calm and focus on my work. During the event itself, I try to focus only on my performance and not notice the surrounding hustle. I trust my abilities and know that careful preparation gives me the confidence I need."
Karolina treats this opportunity as a way to inspire others and continue her mentorship of the new generation of florists. The Czech Republic is rooting for her and we are all supporting her and wishing for the best outcome during the competition.
