My creations are a tribute to the beauty of the natural world, fused with artistic expression and timeless sophistication.
The Essence of 'Roan Aarts Flowercouture'
My passion for flowers began at an early age. After studying Floral Design, Green Styling, and Visual Presentation at MBO Helicon Den Bosch, I founded Roan Aarts Flowercouture. At the heart of my work is the desire to combine the pure essence of nature with the finesse and grandeur inspired by the world’s greatest fashion houses. I strive to capture what I call “the understanding of beauty.” Every arrangement tells a story of exclusivity, quality, and the silent language of flowers. So here I present my collab as BFF Bredefleur Friend.
The Allure of Lilies
Lilies are so much more than just flowers to me—they are an endless source of inspiration and the perfect canvas for creative expression. Their sculptural elegance, rich color palette, and mesmerizing fragrance make them the ideal element for floral couture. “Lilies are perfect for sculptural designs full of craftsmanship,” I often say. Their natural form allows for fluid movement, strength, and grace—all elements I aim to express in my floral art.
Zelmira: The Muse of Lilies
Among the many varieties I’ve worked with, Zelmira holds a special place in my heart. With her unique peachy-pink hue blended with apricot undertones and her generous size, Zelmira radiates a sense of indulgence. “Zelmira embodies the pure perfection of nature,” I believe. Her delicate yet complex coloring and refined presence align seamlessly with my artistic vision.
A Symphony of Shape, Color, and Texture
For my BFF creation with Bredefleur, I highlighted the remarkable diversity of their lilies by creating a floral composition that brings together form, elegance, richness, and craftsmanship. This piece was a tribute to natural opulence—a blend of luxury and visual refinement that makes you momentarily forget you’re looking at something entirely natural.
I carefully selected a palette of Bredefleur lilies:
- The soft peach tones of Zelmira
- The bold, clean shapes of Master
- The deep warmth of Dalian
- The refined pink of Lasting Love
- The expressive character of Dark Secret
By combining these varied hues and forms, I created a layered color story inspired by both the richness of nature and the layered textures of high fashion. The arrangement was built in layers, using long lily stems to give it height and depth, following a natural flow, as if they had grown organically from a lush garden.
To enhance texture and contrast, I incorporated Brugmansia, Begonia, Kalanchoe, Tetrapanax, and even thoughtfully selected fruits, amplifying the harmony and abundance of the piece. Every detail reflects the precision and soul of Roan Aarts Flowercouture, with the lily as the radiant centerpiece—my red thread throughout the design.
A Visit to the Source
One of the most memorable moments for me was visiting the Bredefleur greenhouses. “It was incredible to witness the level of craftsmanship behind each lily,” I shared with them. Seeing where these stunning flowers are grown and even having the chance to design on-site was a true honor. Their lilies are a perfect match for my design philosophy, and it was a joy to connect with the source of such extraordinary blooms.
