Chrysanthemum week

Chrysanthemum Week brought together the energy of growers, breeders, and designers around one of the most recognized flowers worldwide. At Thursd Latam, we continue to stand by our role in highlighting the people and ideas that move the floral industry forward. Across two days, I visited the showrooms of several breeders who opened their doors to share their latest introductions, creative displays, and the special events they had prepared for the week. Below is a look at the experiences and moments that shaped my visit!

From Breeders to Visitors - Highlights That Defined Chrysanthemum Week 2025

Walking into Chrysanthemum Week 2025, I knew I was stepping into two days filled with discoveries, but I didn’t expect the energy to be so contagious. Breeders opened their showrooms with a mix of warmth and pride, eager to share their latest varieties, concepts, and stories.

As visitors, we didn’t just look at flowers, but we also listened, learned, and connected with the people shaping the future of this crop. Each stop felt like a chapter of a bigger story that goes beyond the Chrysanthemums themselves. It’s about the innovation, effort, and collaboration that keep the floral industry moving forward.

Danziger – Powered by Nature

With a proposal inspired by Colombia’s natural diversity, Danziger showcased a display full of life, color, and creativity. From the entrance, flora, fauna, and birds set the tone for an exhibition that highlighted their latest developments and strong commitment to floral innovation.

Royal Van Zanten – Inspired by Art

Inspired by the art of Botero, Royal Van Zanten presented a floral masterpiece. Their team proudly highlighted the Bonita series—versatile, colorful, and striking. This concept beautifully showed how art and flowers can inspire one another to create unique experiences.

Dekker Chrysanten

True to their style, Dekker greeted us with a display full of color and dynamism. While not based on a specific theme, their architectural design reflected class and creativity, complemented by their now-iconic beverage bars—a true 'Dreamland' for visitors.

Highlights included:

Floritec – Japanese Genetics that Inspire

One of the youngest breeders, but already standing out with groundbreaking proposals. Their Japanese genetics, developed in collaboration with Inochio Seikoen and our dear friend Kohei, amazed us with unusual, almost surreal shapes—straight out of a fantasy film. They also presented the Lovato series, a cushion chrysanthemum family with great versatility. Special thanks to Rick, María Alejandra, and Kohei for guiding us through this inspiring visit.

Icon Selections – A Picnic of Creativity Without Limits

Icon Selections welcomed us with their traditional thank-you picnic, surrounded by friends and colleagues from the floral industry. Their theme, Icon Chrysanthemum Park, was a colorful, imaginative playground of floral beauty. Sales Director Ana María Zapata shared their latest novelty, the Cloud Nine white cushion, a promising variety already recognized with a Blue Ribbon at SAF.

Deliflor – Deli Roots, A Tribute to Their Origins

To close the week, we visited Deliflor, where their display told an emotional story: Deli Roots, a tribute to their origins and the legacy they’ve built as industry leaders. Their closing event, with dinner and a party inside the greenhouse, was an unforgettable experience—true to their essence of tradition, innovation, and passion for Chrysanthemums.
