You've probably seen September Studio's floral artsy videos on social media... especially on his Instagram channel. He went from being a design genius to an all-time social media star. He has fixed his videos to impact his community and has thousands of people looking at his reel creations. Meet Bryce Heyworth, the face behind the vision and the inspiration behind September Studio.
Bryce Heyworth – The Genius Behind September Studio
No one knows the power of social media better than Bryce Heyworth of September Studio. The florist’s dancing videos regularly go gangbusters online, catapulting his sculptural flower designs into Aussies’ homes. Heyworth’s savvy social skills and desire to do things differently are two of many reasons why he has been chosen time and time again to collaborate with big brands.
Bryce working his magic
As for what Heyworth has in store? The florist's unique arrangements have been carefully pieced together to complement the luxe interiors and immersive experience.
He shares:
"I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re working on big, bold sculptures and colors that we’re known for. We want people to walk in and think, ‘I’ve never seen something like that before."

A Background in Ceramics – Different Mediums, Same Design Principles
His unconventional background as a ceramicist fuels a different approach to floristry – one that sees him work more as an artist than a traditional florist. Not coming from a floristry background has allowed Bryce to experiment in ways that aren’t traditionally florist-focused. He looks at using flowers as a medium and experiments with color, texture, and shape to come up with new ideas and design principles. Like an artist, he starts with sketching an idea, then moves from shape into form and color.
Purple or red? Who you got?
While many creative industries have seen loads of innovation over the last 100 years, Heyworth believes the floristry industry has bloomed over the last 20 years. He has seen a real resurgence of cool artists using flowers as a medium and creating work that exceeds the limits of imagination when it comes to florals.
He says:
"I’m constantly getting inspiration not just from other florists, but from painters, sculptors, and artists, which makes me excited for the future of floristry.”
Bouquets and Floral Art That Look Like Still-Life Paintings
Heyworth’s bouquets have more in common with elaborate still-life paintings than they do with a typical bouquet. These beauties are their own ecosystems: elaborate floral collages that tell their own story – of place, of season, of emotion. And they’re often housed in vases that only a lifelong ceramicist would know to pair with them. People have been noticing. Now, September Studio has well over a million followers, and Bryce and his flowers are sought after around Australia and even the world.
The advantage of a floral arrangement is that it has a fleeting shelf life. It forces you to take stock of the beauty and enjoy it while you can. Plus, it’s a great way of experimenting with your home without the kind of long-term commitment that furniture and art bring.
He shares with the world:
"I know it sounds weird, but my studio is definitely a place where I relax. When we’re closed, I’ll come in, make ceramics, and just sit in the empty space, with no music, just to wind down."
