About Kentiakwekerij Gerrit Stolze
Kentiakwekerij Gerrit Stolze is a member of Decorum. Like all other members, this grower is carefully selected with one aim: to grow plants of the highest quality under the brand name of Decorum. Kentiakwekerij Gerrit Stolze has been growing a very special product since 1980: kentia. This palm is solely cultivated on a small island near Australia, Lord Howe. That is how the plant received its name, howea forsteriana. In the wild on that island, kentia grows into large ‘trees’, and the local inhabitants pluck their seeds. The seeds are germinated and grown into small plants that are then shipped to the Netherlands. Gerrit Stolze grows environmentally conscious and uses biological pesticides. Before the kentias are large enough to be sold, they are often several years old and have been repotted several times. When grading them, which is done by hand, Gerrit pays attention to the plants being sufficiently bushy and the leaves properly distributed. Every day Gerrit delivers his loveliest plants with the compliments of Decorum.
