Nursery Fa. Martin van der Velden is a member of Decorum. Like all other members, this grower is carefully selected with one aim: to grow plants of the highest quality under the brand name of Decorum.
Owners Freek and Martin van der Velden have specialized in the cultivation of pot Gerberas for around 25 years. In addition, the company grows more and more seasonal products, including Helleborus Christmas Carol, Poinsettia, Garvinea, and Cheeky Garvinea.
Cultivating Quality Products
Cultivating quality products is the main priority. From a small cutting to a mature plant, father and son keep a close eye on the cultivation process and, if needed, make the necessary adjustments to ensure only top-quality products are produced. At Van der Velden, every order is important, whether it is a full tray or a trailer, and, in order to meet the different customer wishes, the nursery grades carefully.
Apart from growing top-quality plants, sustainability is another important priority for the nursery. Freek and Martin want to burden the environment as little as possible. Hence, they reuse water, separate waste, generate their own energy, and use biological crop protection as much as possible. For Freek and Martin, every order is important, whether it concerns one tray or one trailer.
